Queenstown GP
2nd place overall for Tim Fetherstonhaugh

After two brilliant Heats which saw Tim Dominating the Queenstown event, it unfortunately ended in a electrical failure before the Final heat of the day. The electrical problem resulted in Tim not starting the the final heat of the day which ultimately dropped him back to second overall for the day behind winner Brett Stuart.

However, Tim has managed to increase his lead in the championship by 2 points over Elzane de Jager.

The weekend started well with Tim Fetherstonhaugh running 2 seconds faster than anyone during the practice session.

Unfortunately at the end of the 2nd practice session, the engine began to lose power and the team took the boat off the water to examine the engine. An electrical problem meant caused the engine to lose its power. The team worked as fast as possible to repair the electrics for the qualifying session.  The team was able to get the boat on the water but a minor fuel problem cut Tim’s lap short and he will start 6th on the grid for tomorrow’s race.
